The Opportunity:
Junction is thrilled to introduce a brand-new role within our Therapeutic Residential Care (TRC) program, Practice Coordinator. We are recruiting two passionate and skilled individuals to help shape this exciting new chapter with us.
As a Practice Coordinator, you will work closely with Area Coordinators and Therapeutic Child and Youth Workers (TYWs) to embed Junction’s trauma-responsive and relational care framework across our residential care houses. You’ll provide hands-on coaching, lead reflective practice sessions, and offer guidance on complex cases and critical incidents, ensuring every child and young person receives consistent, high-quality therapeutic care.

You’ll need a deep understanding of trauma-informed care, the ability to support staff through reflective practice, and a commitment to cultural safety and continuous learning.

Our Ideal Candidate:
We are seeking highly passionate professionals who:
- Have demonstrated experience supporting young people with high and complex needs, using trauma-informed and therapeutic care approaches
- Possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with staff, young people, and external stakeholders
- Can bring leadership capability with the ability to mentor, coach, and support reflective practice within a team environment
- Can manage competing priorities, work autonomously, and contribute to a consistent, high-quality care environment
- Demonstrate cultural competence and a commitment to working in a culturally safe and inclusive way, particularly with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
- Holds a Degree or tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a relevant equivalent (or lesser qualification complemented by substantial relevant experience)
You Will Need To:
- Complete our online application process
- Undergo pre-employment testing as part of the recruitment process, which will include psychological assessments (if not already obtained)
- Hold a current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Hold a current Senior First Aid Certificate
- Hold a current Safe Environments Certificate
- Hold a current unencumbered Australian driver’s licence and be willing to drive
- Be prepared to undertake Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training within 6 months of commencing with Junction and complete a 5-day onboarding and induction process.
- Be willing to work flexible hours between 7:30 am and 6:00 pm to meet operational requirements and the practice development needs of TYWs
- Have the ability to work on-call on a rotational roster
