The Opportunity:

This is a great opportunity to demonstrate your leadership skills and supervise the day-to-day operations of and Manuka and Acacia House and its staff to provide individualised support to children and young people in care.

Working Monday to Friday, day shifts from 8.00 am- 4:06 pm, you will work closely with the Operations, Manager, Children & Youth Services supervise support and develop a team of Therapeutic Child and Youth Workers and coordinate the day-to-day functions of the team within the PaSP program. 

You will be responsible for:

  • Creating a safe and supportive environment for young people and manage their complex behaviours
  • Maximize young people’s capacity to live independently in the community 
  • Transition young people into stable accommodation; and 
  • Improve social, economic, health and wellbeing outcomes for the people we work with
About You:
  • Demonstrate sound communication and interpersonal skills
  • An understanding of working with children and young people with complex and challenging behavior
  • Demonstrated leadership capability
  • An understanding of the child protection system
  • An understanding of the impacts of trauma on children and young people 
  • An understanding of child development
  • Appreciation of and enthusiasm for the PaSP Coordinator role 

 

Selection will be made on a merit basis and will include consideration of your past and current performance in the Therapeutic Child and Youth Worker role, experience working at the relevant house and demonstrated relationship with the young people and, your responses in the application process.
